The Japanese Green Tea Shops staff visits small rural (Kanto Plain) Tea Shops and Pottery Shops searching for rare, unique, hard to find, no longer produced or otherwise just beautiful pottery pieces. We are often invited into back rooms and storage spaces to look at pottery that has not been on the store shelves for years. (This is what we love the most!) We purchase the items for our own collection, and once back in our office we identify and verify the type of yakimono and where the items were made. We then make these pottery items available to you.
The pottery items on these (Yakimono) pages are available in very limited quantities. We have only a few of each piece, and in some cases we were only able to find one or two of a particular item to purchase and add to our inventory.
Please note that we have authenticated all of the pieces on our "Yakimono Collection" pages as genuine. They are sold "as is" and in some instances, the beautiful boxes which often come (especially with Aritayaki porcelain) were not available. All of the items in our inventory are "new", that is to say they have absolutely never been previously sold or used in any way.
